SWOT Matrix





Strengths
- Strong brand identity, distinctive products
- Strong brand name
- The Swatch group has more than 15 brands : financial resources
- Excellent reputation of quality (swiss-made), reliability
- Association with sports events
- Wide range of products ( plastic, steel, colorful...)

- Swatch could create Smartwatches
- Growth potential in Asia : market is driven by Asian consumer but the plastic range is not well-perceived
- Green concept for Europe : directives limitating nickel materials use and banning mercury in button cells used in watches. Swatch can surf on the green trend and advertise about it.
Threats
- The Swiss competition regulators is obliging the Swatch group to supply his rivals for several years => increase of competition and rivals
- Competition of new rivals, less expensive (not swiss-made watch), trendier or younger.
Swatch consumers' preference can change rapidly, Swatch need to anticipate fashion and trends

    Unfortunately the SWOT is the same for both companies. If you want to improve it, your viewers will be very happy for sure.
